I was going through my molds today and realized I've never tried my "trash cans" in my Bisley Blackhawk yet. They make a hell of a thump in a 100 yards berm even with SAA safe loads. These will be powder coated since the mold was designed for it from the start only having a crimp groove.

Interesting looking bullet, looks like it would be a beast at close range.

I'd like to know more about your Mold for the "Trash Can" When I started powder coating I wanted a bullet with a large meplat so I made this one as a test and only added a crimping groove since it's for pc. It drops at 266gr and is very accurate out of my Cimarron Thunderer. I haven't cast them in a while since my Stampede shoots and old H&G 240gr swc to the sights and it won't feed in my Rossi 92. I just got my lathe moved and set back up so I have to get the mill going and make some more blocks to make a heavier version. If I can figure out a way to make the blocks easier I'd offer molds but it's a bit time consuming making theme and without cnc, the price would be above the quality custom molds offered already.

That is similar to the Matts Wadcutter Bullets that work so well for me. As Dick pointed out, they hit like a flying cinder block, but their Penetration and Trajectory has been surprising.
I think you will love those bullets. Like you said, even at 950 fps...

Here it is in the Thunderer. It's close to the mouth of the throat so I put a deep crimp groove in it so it wouldn't jump.

I load those type Bullets in my FA97 45 Colt. Matt hardens them for me and I load them midrange. My favorite combo for woods carry.

I'd like a bullet in that style for my various Ruger .44 Specials. Anyone have a suggestion for a mold?

Tom at accurate olds.com has various styles of the flying trash cans if anyone is looking for molds. He will also make anything you can dream up and his turn around time is very fast

someone graciously sent me some 45 colt "trash cans" from a NOE mold that drops them at 250 grains. over 5 gr of bullseye I had 4 shots touching, got excited and the last one dropped outside the group.
