Got paid and stopped by the LGS to buy another pound of powder and 1,000 primers... Spent too much time in front of the handgun case and saw a brand new 4" Model 29....The only Smith I have ever owned was a 5906 when I was a LEO,I lost "top shot" in my LEO academy class because my issued 686 broke. I do have 3 SRH's,2 RH's.2 GP100's and 2 SP101's.......... The LGS owner handed me the 29 and a bunch of snap caps and told me to give it a run.....OHH MY GOD and HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

So,,, what kind of bad thing did you do? Rescue a good S&W from some punk who wanted to be Dirty Harry? Protected the public, (Like any good LEO would do) & get that gun off the street & into the hands of a responsible gun owner?

The bad thing was pulling the DA and SA trigger on a gun I simply cannot afford.

Good thing "Do you hear voices in your head" is not a question on the 4473 background check form. Because you are going to hear them till you go get it. Steve is right. If you get a holster it will make a lot of sense to get the gun. Why just have a holster ?

Pick it up, you'll never regret having it, passing it up will haunt you!

The only bad thing you did was not owning a model 29 before now.
Good heavens man!

As the years go by, the quality will be long remembered after the price is long forgotten

Darrell.... a bloodline Model 29 goes through life smoothing bends in road, a wand in the hand. The beautiful 6-1/2-inch, the special eight and three-eigths, the scrimmaging 4-inch, life for a sharpshooter is made better knowing these guns. Among handgun calibers, "44" spells WORK, and at tasks the 4-inch is a natural. David Bradshaw

Looked at a 27-2 8 3/8s this afternoon. Never wanted such a long barrel until today. Have no idea what I'd do with it, probably make a fun varmint/antelope gun. Locks up tight, no fat trigger or hammer. Better sleep on it.....,.
