I use a carved leather holster from Rick Bachman of Old West Reproductions in Montana. My gun is a blued Super Blackhawk in 44 mag, 7 1/2" barrel. I found that quite a few holster makers don't make their holsters for the Blackhawk raised front sight and adjustible rear sight. Rick Bachman does. The pattern I ordered was the Teddy Roosevelt double loop. It is a copy of the pattern of the holster made for Teddy Roosevelt when he was ranching in South Dakota. Fits my gun like a glove. I will post pics later, but I can tell you it is a work of art.

All the above are excellent choices. I also like this Rick Gittlein holster I got through Rob Leahy a couple years ago:

I have two holsters that I use for my 7-1/2" single actions. The first one is a DeSantis crossdraw rig that is perfect for when you are riding in a Jeep or on an ATV: The other one is an old Safariland belt holster. It is great for packing the 7-1/2" pistolas when out in the woods:

Posted this elsewhere, but it fits here too. RM Bachman for a 7 1/2" Ruger.

The Barranti NW Hunter is my go to rig for a 7-1/2" gun. My El Dorado rides in it just fine. BUT,,, the Longhorn Companion looks great,,, but I haven't gotten one,,, yet,,,!

My favorite is the last steel lined Fast Draw holster made by Andy Anderson for his personal 7.5 inch Colt Big Iron.

Maybe you didn't see this picture, but I have a 7.5" Single Seven on. The LC rides nice and close, out of the way and very comfortable even for a size large guy. Also have on a 7 slot belt slide for the 327 Federal on one side and a 6 shot slide on the other side with .257 Jackrabbits in it. Here is Ray with one of his:

Ferman Thanks for the photos !!!! Now that I know what I am looking at, I fully understand the concept and the versatility of the LC. I fully understand how that it could be used in a crossdraw fashion in a truck or car.
