I put a used Browning A bolt on lay a way at Cabelas in the 223 WSSM caliber. Lo and behold there is no brass available and loaded ammo runs 80.00 per box of 20 Does anyone out there have a line on where a guy could pick up 100 rounds of empyty cases ? Or should I cancel the lay a way.

Eeek. Thats 416 class pricing. I guess that's what I get for picking a loser cartridge. But it is SO handy in an AR and a deer slaying machine.

Well..... Went to the gun show this weekend and scored a bag of 50 223 wssm brass for 50.00. Also found 3 boxes of 223 wssm factory ammo for 31.00 each .Also a hand full of 243 wssm brass that I can size down. So.....scurried back too Cabelas and purchased the rifle a second time. Photos to come.

I think I still have a box of factory ammo, or a piece of a box. I'll try to remember after work to go look in the shed.

I have one that was built on a Savage action and guy wanted to build something else. I don't shoot a rifle much now. The ballistics are great for what I used it for. Like it better than 22/250's and 220 swift from years ago when I shot rifles a lot. I don't regret buying it. I would pickup all the brass I could find. The necks are thick but need to be annealed. The good thing about the Savage is ability to change bolt head and barrel when throat is gone. Probably not at all sitting in a corner collecting dust except for a shot or two a year.
