450AK, thank you for input. Am looking for any and all opinions to throw into my mental blender and see what I pour out later. Luck with the fishing !

Groo here I might suggest a different route, how about A 325 THUNDER RANCH 45ACP 4IN? 4in ,32 oz 6 shot, moonclips for fast reloads and can shoot anything up to 45 super. Mine is most accurate , lighter than it looks [ needed pachmyre's]and speed loads like a dream. 45 acp not too pricy, heavy auto rim loads from BB and DP,and can mount a light if needed.

I want to stay with either the 44's or the 480. Groo does bring up something I want to address though. Reloads. Are there speed loaders for the M69 44mag or the 480 Alaskans ? The N frame based 44 Smiths not a problem.

That's funny, 'cause that's how I got the Bulldog. I bought a Single-Six and friend bought the Bulldog. He'd unexpectedly found himself single and dating and going to questionable places, so got the Bulldog. I traded him the SS back n forth 3-4 times(once per gal friend) then got stubborn and wouldn't trade, and got another SS too.

M69 speed loader info: smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/482914-speedloader-s-w-model-69-a.htmlIIRC, ezekiel38 said that the CA44 has been redesigned and works in the M69. The one I have had for 10+ years binds a bit in both my 396 and 69. Paul

Have 4-5 CA44's that are old enough to vote, here.

Well, you are right. It got him married and divorced twice more.. I've got the Bulldog, and the second Single-Six and my original wife, though the warranty seems to have run out..
