An equine therapy organization we support asked if I could take a couple of pieces of spalted maple and make a counter top for their parents lounge/waiting area. Unfortunately the one board had a void which I tried to seal off before filling with epoxy but once again all it did was make a mess! The result was I was not able to complete their countertop before I took off for Wyoming like I had promised so I had to come up with a temporary alternative. I had several 7 1/2' long teak boards I was thinking of selling so I grabbed a couple and did a little prep work then splined and glued two of them together and ripped a third board down to serve as edge bank. Nothing fancy but man did that wood take on a new life once it was sanded and coated with two coats of teak oil. I dropped it off today so Justin could get it mounted before next weeks sessions then when I get back I will finish the spalted maple pieces and swap it for this temporary one. I am not sure what I will do with this one then but I will worry about that once I get it back.  |

We're getting a spun off band of rain now, here in far N.E. Ohio. Short lived, but more after dark. Plenty of time for the Grape Jamboree in between !
