I have a Texas Longhorn arms Northpaw that I am thinking about selling, wondering if anyone could give me current value. I did some research a few years ago on this gun was told then it was valued at 5000 to 6000 dollars. It is a prototype and was never put into production. I was told Bill Grover only made two Northpaws , this one has prototype stamped on the bottom of the tang and serial number 02. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Photos

Assuming you are the gentleman I talked to about it a few years ago, I was wondering if you ever sold it. In my experience, the value of prototype/one-off TLAs has remained pretty static. I would think $5000-$6000 would be top end of what you might expect to get out of it. Even then, there are only a couple people with advanced enough TLA collections to appreciate the Northpaw. I've learned this the hard way when I've tried to sell such guns I bought for my book research.
Feel free to PM me about it, if you like.

Thank you for your reply, I'm sure I am the one that contacted you years ago. How is your book coming along?

Doesn't exist or didn't happen without photographic proof!
Pics would be neat!

I have seen pictures of a mirror image pair in engraved nickel if I am not mistaken.

PhotosIf we can't see a picture, can you at least tell us what's unique about it vs. any other TLA? Did a search and came up with ziltch on the Northpaw.

If I am not mistaken, his gun is one of only a few known TLAs that load on the right side like a Colt or Ruger while all the rest of the TLA have the loading gate on the left side like James shows.

I tried uploading photos , won't let me. Said exceeded limlt for this forum. This is the story I got from my dad , who was the original owner. Bill Grover built this prototype Northpaw for some men from Canada that wanted to market it in the northern states. I'm pretty sure it very close to if not the same as the Southpaw. They had it sent to a gun store in Montana to get feedback on the gun. My father as well as others took the gun out and shot it and gave their impressions of it. The men from Canada wanted Bill Grover to change some things on it. He refused,so the deal fell through. The gun store told my dad what happened, and that it was for sell. He bought then I got it from him a few years later. To the best of my knowledge through research th ere were only 2 built Bill Grover kept number1, and it might have burned up in a fire. If I could figure out how to post photos I would. It loads on the left.

My TLAs are some of the finest fitted revolvers I own. Maxx, you could email the pictures to one of us ans we could post them for you. I am fortunate to have a few of Bill Grovers #5 guns as well as a West Texas Flat Top Target.
