I should have stated Taffin's book, Big Bore Revolvers, sorry. I've taken 3 elk using a 325 gr. LBT PB & H110, never had it pressure tested but for sure it was not a max load. All 3 were one shot kills with complete penetration. That big slug just keeps going, I think it would shoot through an elk length ways, although I've never done it. I did shoot a large cow elk almost length ways once with one of my 41 magnums using a 230 gr. Keith slug back in the 70's. At the pressures you're talking & with those bullet weights, nothing will stand up to them from any angle thats for sure.

At the pressures you're talking & with those bullet weights, nothing will stand up to them from any angle thats for sure. Dick Close to 15 years or so ago I bought I bought an Accusport Bisley in 45 colt and a Robert Applegate 325 LFNGC mould. That bullet was only accurate in that gunwhen I ran it hard with 24 grains of H110. Standard 45 Colt loads would only shoot ok. After discussing that gun and mould on another forum not terribly long ago, a fellow PM'd me with an offer to buy that gun and mould that was too attractive to pass up. I don't miss that gun, but maybe I should have kept the mould. After a decade of swinging 8 pound hammers rigging in and out frack sites, my wrists and elbows just can't handle that kind of fun anymore. A friend has offered me a nice 475 Linebaugh on the "pay me when you can plan". I plan to shoot VERY mild loads out of that one. I may have order another heavy LBT LFN mould from Veril Smith. I heard he was in the pokey for tax evasion at the time I bought the Applegate mould. A plain base bullet is just fine for any subsonic load and will help keep pressures lower than with a GC.
