Don't own a 22LR handgun of any type @ this time. 38s were always at hand and more powerful, and until recently about equal in price for gun and ammo. I reload and cast. Size wise it does nothing for me. If I were to purchase a 22LR handgun today it would be the 8 shot SP 101 22 revolver that Ruger builds, with the adjustable sights and 4" barrel.

Well I applaud Ruger's efforts of late to bring out new and different stuff. Between distributor specials and ther mainline stuff they really have uped their game. That said the gp 100 at 42 oz. Is a big heavy gun for shooting 22s. I remeber wanting a smith 617 and coming to the same conclusion.
I probably will not buy one but it would be a fun range gun.

I have been waiting for this gun ever since Ruger announced it was in the works almost a year ago. I will grab the first one I find.

I gotta say it's a good looking gun and it does call out to me in several ways but with the shortage of ammo I'm afraid I can't see adding a .22 at this time. They do make it tough to pass up though.

Many of us have been buying more .22 ammo than we shoot for many years. I doubt I could lift all of the .22 ammo I own all at once. At the rate I have been shooting it up I probably have a lifetime supply on hand. That being said .22 ammo is being found locally at a much better rate than six months ago and the online sellers are showing it in stock pretty often. Just get ready to pay for it! The days of the $8 brick are long gone.

Eliminating the full underlug cut the weight a bit but it is still makes a big heavy gun for a 22. I'd like to see the LCRX in a 8 shot 22 myself..

I ordered one from kygunco.com this morning. They are taking orders for the shipment expected in just a couple days from now. $709 and free shipping. Davidsons sent me an e-mail saying they had them in stock, but when I clicked on the link it said "out of stock" they may just have not updated the web site. They also may have sold out in 10 minutes! That does happen.

Looks like a nice gun. I have a 6" M617 six shot, and it shoots great. They are on the heavy side for a .22 rim fire, but I can smoke clay birds at 100 yards all day with it.

Shoots nice, which I would expect.. Didn't too any formal shot for group, but it was no problemo on my 20 & 25 yard plates. I'd I seem ambivalent, I'm not sure Id shoot it enough to warrant adding it to the collection. I have a 617 10-shot built by Apex Tactical we used on SHOOTING GALLERY a couple of seasons ago, plus my Single Sixes and an old S&W Kit Gun that stays in the "get me home" bag. May come down to price...

I've got a 617 4" so I'm out of the market, but if you have a GP 100 or you are a die hard Ruger fan it would be a nice addition. I don't know how many they will sale but I can't knock them fir trying to please their fans. This thread actually inspired me to start a thread on another forum where it has definitely raised some eyebrows. Go Ruger!
