It's been awhile since I posted this thread, and certain scenes from the movie are still with me. This probably due to the act that the acting and casting were good, but even bad films can stick with you. Because it was so stark and morbid I won;t watch it again, but I don't regret seeing it once. More pleasant to discuss single-action guns, gear and shooting.

Not your typical John Wayne movie and a bit off the beaten path as far as western movies go...it kind of reminded of No County for Old Men; every since Lonesome Dove I've been a fan of TLJ.

Yeah, I forgot about "No Country For Old Men" That too was a dark movie for TLJ. Another of his I saw years ago was "The Death and Burial of ---" it was a Spanish name. The setting was the Texas border and a Border Patrolman accidentally killed a Mexican migrant worker. A modern Western that was also very grim. Hmmmm. Methinks....
