I dearly love my 45 Colt mountain gun. Unfortunately, my eyes are aging and the front sight is getting hard to see. Has anyone any success with hi viz sights? I have a gold bead put on my GP 100 and it helps, but I don't know if that option is available here. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks Warren

I wish it was a RedHawk. I just traded for one that has fiber optic sights and I have already ordered factory replacements. You would be more than welcome to the RedHawk fiber sights.
AND ... I have a blue 29-8 Mountain Gun that has a set of Trijicon night sights on it. Made me think of an experience I had many years ago. I was in the Frank Church wilderness, Idaho, on an elk hunt. There was a commotion at the cook tent one night, one of the guides stuck his feet in his boots and with one hand holding up his britches, a mag light in his teeth, and a Ruger 44 mag in the other hand ... He dispatched a black bear that was raiding the cook tent. I'll bet the tritium sighted MountainGun would have come in handy.

I put an EGW on mine. Not crazy about it looks wise, but it works.

Mine has a red FO front and an Xpress V rear. It is very quick for my old eyes, cataracts and all.

I too have been thinking about a ghost rung rear sight for my .44 mag Mountain Gun. Seriously, no one makes one? Also, what do you guys think of laser sights for fast target acquisition?

I have several revolvers I've adapted Williams fiber optic ghost rings on to the rear sight... like them enough, that I have 4 set up that way right now... this is my Ruger Alaskan... 454 a couple more...

Mine has a red FO front and an Xpress V rear. It is very quick for my old eyes, cataracts and all. Who makes those? I'm having the same problem with my S&W 25-5. The red ramp front sight is hard to see clearly. Wonder if Trijicon could insert a bright orange or green module.

We've made a rear peep sight for S&W revolvers for a long time & also a fiber optic front sight in either red or green. Most like the green including me.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Just picked up my gun with the brand new EGW fiber optic front sight. Can't wait to try it out.
It's nice to see that there are several good options for those of us that are "front sight challenged".
