I just finished this .416 Taylor and thought I'd post a photo or two: The action is a 98 Mauser (VZ-24) and the barrel is a stainless Shilen. Anyone else shoot this round? -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee, it looks like one heck of a round to take on a bear hunt to Kodiak island. Bill

Lee, The only thing I like better than a large bore sixgun is a large bore rifle. That is a great looking project you have there and an excellent caliber. I picked up a new Ruger #1 medium sporter in 45/70 about 20 years ago, installed a long eye relief Burris scope on it, loaded up some all out 300 grn hollow points and went deer hunting. One shot and I was a believer. At 35 yards it blew a hole in the deer on the offside big enough to stick both fists in and he fell where he stood. I retired my 30/06 and have used nothing but a large bore rifle since. If you see me in the woods with a rifle, it will be a large bore only.
