My Uncle Mikes showed up. Much more comfortable than the Pachy's. Now I need to find someone who likes the Pachys so I can sell them.

Well... they ARE rubber grips! And I did say I was ashamed.

Interesting bits of information. I let my 5.5" 45 Colt go down the road too. Stock grips were nasty and the Hogue and Pachmayers didn't help either.
But it was my S&W 45 Colt Mt Gun that was really disappointing as I loved the gun but couldn't find grips that would put my hand in the right place. Either the finger grooves were way off or the covered backstrap put my hand too far back so my stubby trigger finger couldn't get good purchase on the trigger.

Range report
So I took my 4" with presentations and the 5.5"with the new uncle mikes to the range . I brought two boxes of ammo Both 240 grain one relatively light target and another about 70 to 80% stout hunting load. The verdict is I like shooting 5.5 better. The grips do help. They are one ounce lighter then the presentations and they are narrower. I thought the felt recoil would be less with the presentations but they seemed close. To be fair the 4" is a couple ounces lighter so l need to put em on the 4" and try em. (Forgot my toolkit and my leatherman) The Uncle Mikes give better control and a more secure grip.

....The Uncle Mikes give better control and a more secure grip. That's what I notice also. Especially with my 355gr wfn load at 1300fps in the 4" 454 RH.

Did a bunch of shooting yesterday with my new .41 Redhawk... Everything from 7.0 grains of Unique with a 210 to 22.0 grains of H110 with a 250... While the new grips were good decided since I needed a few things from Numrich decided I'd get a set of the Uncle Mike's...can't hurt...
Thanks for the post...Bob
