Just finished up a great hunt in Unit 40 in NM for antelope. First hunt Deb and I have been on together when we could both shoot. She stalked with us on my Oryx hunt on the Armendaris last year but didn't have a tag. We both shot bucks out of the same group within a minute of each other. I popped mine and the 2nd buck came over the hill to see what all the fuss was about. I handed her the gun and steadied the stix and she popped him too! Both one shot kills at about 185 yds. I've shot plenty of goats but this was her first. I don't have kids and seeing her face when she walked up on her buck must be sorta' like what you guys talk about when experiencing things with your kids. Both were right at 15". Mine would have gone another inch but he had broken the tips off. Mine had a much bigger body. Go figure. Cost me selling a nice custom to pay for the trip but I can have another gun built. This was priceless. We both have bull elk tags in Unit 6C about 1/2 hour from the house in 2 weeks. We'll see how that one goes. Completely different animal on so many levels.

Those are both great but I have to admit, she is prettier than you, OOPS I mean her buck is prettier than yours! Right you are about the grin. That first one is priceless. That is why I went down and got my daughter a deer tag last week. She is staying with us with our one year old grandson while dad is in the sandbox and we are going to try our hardest to see that same look on her face this fall.

Cost me selling a nice custom to pay for the trip but I can have another gun built. This was priceless. Great experiences like that are worth so much more than possessions, even a swanky custom revolver. Did I say that out loud??? The wife and I have been doing a good bit of traveling and I wouldn't trade one trip for all the custom guns in the world!
