The fact a mosin nagant can be safely used intrigues me as I have alot of experience with Russian arms..... Any reason why a good sound Mosin nagant receiver could not safely shoot a round loaded similiar to your 585gr loading? Thanks again Lee

I don't have the measurements of the magwell width or cartridge, but will the Mosin need any rail or magwell widening? Or are you thinking single shot cmh? I'm pondering a .500 S&W so this could be interesting for both of us...

I would have to have a magwell otherwise I'd go with a Ruger #1....

Great read Lee. Are the Siamese Mausers 55 or 60 degree threads? 14 TPI, 55 degree pitch. Standard 98’s are also 55 degrees, but 12 TPI. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time" Thanks Leed. Never understood 55 deg. Or TPI on a German gun. Lol I'll have to order a couple of 55 deg inserts. I got one somewhere and wanted to make it a 475 Short, Long, or Long Rifle. )
