Wait until I get it to the range... If it will shoot as well as it is put together I expect it to really show out...

Responses run hot and cold.... It is a good thing that we don't all like the same thing... My personal tastes run the full spectrum... And I like this one... The more I hold it the more I like it... Of course I like the slicked up TLAs too.... But relatively speaking they are so common....

Touche', Axe. And you know, I actually wouldn't mind having one for myself. There is a lot that I like about it.
But I think some changes would have to be in order before I could pull the trigger, so to speak, on buying one.
The "engraving" is one thing. Most of his patterns don't appeal to me, but mostly I just don't care for the way the patterns runs right off of the frame and continues onto the grip frame. It's kind of like assembling a great engine and bolting it into the frame of your motorcycle, and then spray painting everything the same color... nuts, bolts and all.
The next thing is the lettering he uses, in his naming of the gun and in his name itself. It just seems too large and there is too much of it on too many parts of the gun. It looks like a sorority girl has been practicing her best cursive penmanship, or something, I'm not sure....I can't put my finger on it. Simple, small block lettering would do just fine.
And although I am certain that he is proud of his work, must he always include his complete autograph? If his name was something cool...Duke Rogers, Chuck Flint, Bob Steel or the like, I could accept it. But, his name is just...Gary Reeder, which would better suit an accountant or a librarian more so than a gunmaker.
A classy little insignia with his initials ought to suffice.
I know he sells a lot of guns, but I doubt if a single individual bought one simply because they really, really loved that style of engraving or the lettering all over it. Most buyers would probably still have bought the gun, especially in some of his trick calibers, if it was a little more understated.
I might even have been one of them.

It's a little too much bling for my tastes but I reserve the right to change my mind between now and the boneyard. Mechanically, it would seem to be an awesome piece and the upcoming range report will probably confirm it's a shooter.
Is the engraving really engraving done with gravers and chasers or is it laser gizmo thermo nuclear computer aided sort of stuff? It looks almost like it's etched somehow. I would assume it could do other, more traditional patterns.
Nickel or chrome plating?
I don't think we ought to compare it to the TLAs - like apples and oranges, both fruits, common or not.
Nice. Thanks for sharing.

I believe all of Reeder's engraving is by laser.

"Nickel or chrome plating?"
Neither, polished stainless steel.

The Axe says "Octagon barrel and all in stainless steel!"
majorKap says "Well, it IS shiny."
Sorry. I promise to work on the 'comprehension' thing. It is shiny, though.

After much deliberation I will say that .......It is kind of shiney. Furthermore, as long as you like it, thats all that matters. On a more serious note, is the barrel crown off a little to the bottom and left or is that just how the picture looks?

I don't mind it, but I see a certain similarity to my son's bedroom door, which is covered indiscriminately by stickers.
