Dave, congratulations on a older Ruger. If it's sound inside I'd carry it proudly they are great guns & well worth having. Enjoy it. Frank

Nice old Ruger. I've one in the 12XX s/n range (can't remember the exact number and my pic is too small to read the s/n).. I've gathered up the parts to get it restored. Now I just need to "get 'er done." Carl

Another great looking gun. How can you do anything but smile when you see that plum frame?

It's a nice old revolver, a little worn in spots but it shoots well and looks good. I had to convince the gunsmith that the only parts to hot blue were the cylinder, barrel, erh, base pin and screws... He wanted to blue the frame, he's a plum hater I guess. He also had explicit instructions to stay clear of, or go easy on the squiggles on the sight ramp, I like'm!
I really prefer the plum look on these old guns and I don't feel one bit "girly like" sporting it.
The only remnant of the hatchet attack on the barrel bottom nowadays is a little hidden scar under the base pin. He also cleaned up the erh and ejector knob (painful little SOB that it is).
