After 30+ years in oil and gas yesterday, Friday, was my last day in the office. The company booked a restaurant for 80 or so of us. We drank, ate, laughed and teared. I am on a plane from Korea early morning and will be home in Texas for dinner Sunday. This wraps a career of eleven assignments in six states and another nine assignments in six other countries. I will wake up Monday morning and have to decide to play with the 375 H&H of the '73 Mach 1. It feels good, darn good.

Good luck to you. I am in the WY portion of my oil and gas career. I've worked in 27 states and 2 other countries.

Congrats Box. You have put your time in and following your world travels over the last few years will make a guys head spin. Now enjoy the spoils of working your butt off in all the crap hole assignments you have had for so many years.

Retirement is great, you'll love it, once you get used to it that is. Its easy to feel a bit lost for a while, but you will get over it!

Thumbs up Ed! I bet the boys will be tickled to get you back home in TX. I understand folks make in order to support a family but the path you choose would be a tough one in my mind. Glad you can stay home and enjoy the family and some of your neat projects.

Congratulations! Looking back, what was your favorite assignment? First, many thanks to all as truth be known it is this forum and a couple of others that allowed me to keep my head straight. As far as best assignment, likely the same as my worst. This was offshore (60 miles) in the Caspian Sea. It allowed me to realize that I had the ballz to live a rather chitty life, 40 degrees below and 40 above. The project: Where I slept. I came home to find my wife had built me my retirement gift. She is an angel...

Awesome. Congrats on the retirement. My dad said the biggest problem is you think you'd have more free time but he's busier now than he's ever been. Hopefully you get to relax.

Congratulations and wishing you the best in your retirement. Put the 375 H&H in the Mach 1 and take the long way to the range, it's now time to relax and enjoy.
