Interesting that powder coat PLUS lube equals 187 fps more than powder coat on one load

From Dougerader:
I only had a little time this morning, and spent too much of it looking for the crony and tripod. But I was able to shoot a few loads over the screens.
Gun: Ruger S7, 4-5/8", stock. Cases: Starline 32 HRM, once fired Bullet: Hornady 100 grain xtp-hp Powder: 11.6 grains 296 Primers: CCI 550 6-shot avg:1259 fps; ES: 60 fps; ME: 352 ft. lbs.
Cases: Speer 327 FM, once fired nickel Bullet: Hornady 100 grain xtp-hp Powder: 8.5 grains Blue Dot Primer: CCI 500 7-shot avg: 1260 fps; ES: 106 fps; ME: 352.4
Cases: Speer 327 FM, once-fired nickel Bullet: Corder 120 grain FPGC Powder: 8.5 grains Blue Dot Primers: CCI 500 7-shot avg: 1283 fps; ES: 73 fps; ME: 439 ft. lbs.
Speer factory 115 Gold Dot hp 327 FM 7-shot avg: 1506 fps; ES: 81 fps; ME: 579 ft. lbs.
I really like Todd's bullet. He sold me 500, and they are great. I didn't have time to shoot groups this time out. Maybe next time, but my eyes don't do so well past 25 yards without a scope anymore.

Another:
Tried a new 32 mag load as follows yesterday.
CCI 550 9.7 2400 115 GCHP MIHA Seated in crimp groove.
It displayed great promise accuracy wise at least to 50. The group shown was shot from my 5.5" 32 Harton custom. I did not chronograph the load, but it should be running about 1250-1300. Lots of big hungry skeeters out. Terribly distracting. This particular sixgun has a Clements rear sight. Like the Bowen rough country, it takes some shooting to get zeroed just right. Pressures however seemed well within the ability of my S6's. Easy case extraction. I'm not dead set on which HP cast I plan to use in my 32s yet, but the MIHA 115 is definitely a serious contender as it uses more of the available cylinder than the 100 grain slugs.

My Flying Fist and Sledgehammer data:
I finished up the shooting I needed to get done with heavy bullets yesterday. The loads here represent maximum and you need to work up to all of these loads carefully. I do not have a sixgun with optics on it, but I shot my brothers 32-20 Buckeye so equipped and have decided that optics make shooting a sixgun both easier and harder all at the same time. Easier because you can see better but harder because since you can see better you end up trying to hold steadier and that can be a struggle.
Paco Kelly's Flying Fist made for an impressive performer. Here we seated it out a bit in order to be able to seat it on 13.3 grains of H110. With my alloy, these bullets dropped from the excellent Miha mold at 154 grains when gas checked and lubed. This is some serious power in a 32-20 especially since the 6.5" Buckeye was exiting the Flying Fist at 1446 fps. If memory serves, Jeff Hoover was running the same powder charge on his Buckeye and his velocity was also in the 1440 fps range. Despite the one flyer, my groups were consistently in the 2-2.5" range at 50 yards on a very windy day. In my opinion, if you need what this bullet can do, it will certainly require a bit more investigation!!
The 32 Sixgun Sledgehammer was also very impressive although I could not get it to shoot any better than the Flying Fist. 2-2.5" groups at 55 yards seemed to be the best I could muster for the conditions. Still, from the Buckeye, the 135 grain Sledgehammer GCHP was running just over 1500 fps when seated on 15.0 H110. Can you imagine the impact that will have on meat? I wonder if a custom barrel will have a positive effect on the velocity with this load? It remains to be found out.
One of my favorite 44 magnum sixgun loads exits the 429215 GC at 1500-1550 fps from a 7.5" Ruger Bisley. The above loads may serve as excellent understudies. I look forward to comparing the trajectories and holdovers in the future.
