Shot this again today and it shot better than last time, probably in part because of the Williams FP sight. Different load too, I used the same 200 Hornady but with IMR 4064 powder. 53-54.5 grs was best but all were good. I was getting 4 shot groups around 2 inches and 3 of 4 closer to an inch with this combo. As always its critical where the bead is. This is a pretty damn good rifle, regardless who made it.

Clearly you have excellent taste. I clicked through your album and stumbled onto your .45 5.5" Bisley - I have the same gun. I've also got a Browning 1895 in .30-06 - got it more or less to round out the Browning made/JMB designed lever action collection, and didn't know if I'd even like it. It's such a joy to shoot though - the action is incredibly smooth. It's hard to put it into words. It's night and day from any other lever gun I've ever handled. I may hot rod it into a 375 or 411 Hawk some day. Don't mean to hi-jack thread. Instead of the 375 Hawk, you might consider the 9.3x62 Mauser. Warmer than standard handloads with RL17 and bullets from 286-320 are pretty outstanding, and several good factory loads are available. Having been invented in 1905, this one German round Winchester would have been wise to adopt back in the day. One of my brothers made off with my Browning 71. It was super accurate compared to any of the half dozen Winchester 71's I've owned. Another Browning 71 is in my future, but it will likely be chambered in another 50-110 case derived round such as the 375 Alaskan or 475 Turnbull. I hope you continue to enjoy your new rifle! IMHO the 71's are the smoothest lever action rifles ever.
