Have used the 10 gr of Unique w/ 250gr SWC for years. W231 and Vht N340 are also good for your general Purpose loads. Good luck finding them.

I developed a big time love affair with the 250 gr keith bullet in the 44 back in the 80s. I always figured unique and 2400 were the only powders I would ever need but have replaced unique with red dot. I like 5 grs in the special and 6 grs in the magnum. 21.5 of 2400 gives me the best accuracy for magnums but I am looking for some accurate #9 to play with since 2400 is so hard to find.

I still can't find any 2400 but did get some 4227. I also picked up an old Ohaus 245 Keith that drops at 260gr so I'm going to load a bunch up with Unique and see how they do. Hopefully it shoots good out of it and I have a 44 super 14 barrel coming for my Contender on Tuesday which will get a permanent 2" brake to uae as a carbine. A load that works for both is my goal now.

Around my area powder is hard to come by. So with my cast 250 SWC Titegroup has filled my needs for now.

I have three loads I like one is 8-1/2grs of Unique which just about duplicates the old Keith/Skelton .44 Special load. My heavy load is 20-1/2grs of 2400 & it's pretty powerful. I also like a lighter load of 18-1/2gr of 2400. These three WORK pretty well for me.
