I need to check in here more often. Yes you should! I've read the hollow backstrap helps absorb recoil. Did you notice an increase in recoil or muzzle flip once it was mushed in or did the ability to get an even better grip offset any increase in felt recoil/ muzzle flip?

Personally, I don't think the hollow backstrap absorbs any recoil at all. I've never been able to get mine to give in to any pressure against it. The Glocks are all good shooters.........far better than many of their handlers! Muzzle flip is easy to control. I shoot a model 27, and once I learned how to shoot it, it does just exactly what it's supposed to.

I also have the (All Gen 3's) G27, G23 and G20SF and they are much more accurate than I thought they would be... As far as reliability, well they just plain Work, and have worked every time for me, with Zero failures so far.

My 27 is a first generation, purchased new, so I've carried it for a lot of years. Still mighty happy with it.

I've replaced my deep concealment 26 with a 43 in 9mm. I'm thinking of grabbing a 19 (or a 23 with a 40=>9mm conversion barrel) for summer owb carry and maybe selling the 26. I used to carry a 2nd gen 19 and of all the Glocks, that frame size fits my hand the best. The only thing is, I've noticed over the years that selling guns is a bad habit to get into.

Especially when Osamabama is looking over your shoulder so closely. Doesn't it just make ya feel all warm and cuddly?

Personally, I don't think the hollow backstrap absorbs any recoil at all. Me either but I've read of some filling the hollow with Acraglas or something similar when doing grip mods/reshaping and then reporting an increase in felt recoil. The $64 question(s) IMO are did they really get an increase in recoil from eliminating the hollow, was it the final altered shape that affected the recoil and not the filled hollow or was any perceived increase all in their imagination? Other than a box of 50 through a rental G26 a couple of years prior, I had no experience with Glocks before I took my CHL class in 2008. They provided the ammo and a G19 for the test and I was surprised at how well I did with an unfamiliar platform. Wound up with a 19 of my own that I "let" The Boy talk me out of when he turned 21. It's probably good they don't fit my hand very well because if they did I'd probably have a passel of them. This 30 is a motivator of sorts for me. I'm not currently built to comfortably IWB so the plan is to drop at least 20# so I can pack this one once it's fit to me.
