Or, he could distract Tank with a huckleberry shake,,,,,! Or maybe callshot could scare Tank by showing up with his peg leg showing, and the leopard skin thong flapping,,,,,,!

Fermin, why would Dick need to bring along a wench if he was arm wrestling Tank? You think the wench would distract Jeff?

Congrats Mike. I have shot a deer or two but my very first was with my SW 29 105/8" 44. It was bald headed deer though. A trophy to me none the less still have the tail some place. The next year I shot a small buck and I am way more proud of that one than I am some other larger deer. I then got off track an moved to the various single shots they are so close to a rifle that the challenge wasn't there any more. I urge those young gents there to get on track with iron sights. Young healthy eyes are hard to replace. I look back and wish I had shot iron sights when my eyes were better, but it was all about stacking those bullets one on top of the other and my hand guns all got some kind of optic. I have since went to a red dot set up. It doesn't replace irons and I don't trust anything with batteries. But, it is what I can see to use and still feel there is some challenge to out smarting these critters. Congrats again. Jeff

Way to go Mike. Your so humble that you didn't even mention it the other night on the phone. You waited for me to bring it up. I wish that I could have been there with you.

It was a great morning! One I won't forget soon. I heard the shot and knew it was a hit. I waited a second and made my way up there to the field...yeah, ol Doc is so "stubborn" he was using that hog leg in a field where the shots could be 100 yds. What he won't say is how he let the boys always harvest first every year before this...Frankie showed some real maturity when he told Mike to take it, among today's teen you don't always see that level of selflessness, a testament to the family he hails from. I've enjoyed these hunts more than Doc could ever know. Thanks bud and congratulations!
Like the original "Frankie" said..."I did it my way"...

Skeeter gun, Keith bullet, Taffin load, Barranti leather, all classics, for a classic hunt! Way to go Buddy! Wish I coulda been there with you!
Guess if everyone who wanted to be there with ya, it woulda been pretty crowded in that stand.
If Fermin were there, we'd make him put on his wig and sundress and he would be the wench. Maybe it was good we all weren't there after all.
All in all a great job and good story for your pursuit of your holy grail, a six gunned whitetail!
