That would make someone a good shooter. It's a shame that someone buggered up the topstrap like that. Looks like a home smithing job with the rear screw so long it drug on the cylinder. You know, JT collects those nasty plastic grips if they are old enough. BB

All JT has to do is PM me a mailing address and these will find their way to his house... I think that there is a pair of Jay Scott XR3s with the brown stuff next to the grip frame that would fit in the same envelope... ;D

David Clements welded up a gun for me with the same hole problem. Looks great and they are not visible thru the case hardening.

And I felt that the 44 FT you got form me was in tough shape! Maybe this could be a new home for the ribbed 45 barrel once David or Alan fixes the top strap.

There are virtually endless possibilities aren't there! ;D Both of these old war horses are good examples of what has happened to these things through the years... As soon as I get the sight on this one they will both be good shooters but this newest one is going to drive me to have some of my OM FT 44s cleaned up... Luckily this is the only one that needs to see a welder...

Here's a "blued over the rust pits" beater I found in Tulsa several years ago! The "Ruger Gang" wouldn't touch it..... S/N 281, Dec. '56. I'll get it restored someday.... Carl

Hands down, the best looking revolver Ruger has ever built.

Too bad someone got drill happy. Axe I like the large frame .45 Colt idea. Would be a handy gun.
