So, Im chatting with Sixshot on the phone the other day. He is all excited about powder coating bullets. He goes all into his technique, which is none too scientific. He mentions using his empty 5 gallon bucket of cool whip to mix his concoction, and I think to myself, no wonder that Mule had such a hard time hauling ole Dick around! Talk about permanent swayback!! Before I can protest, Dick volunteers to cast some for me and send them to me. Not that I am against powder coated bullets, but to be honest I like the non coated ones just fine. Besides, how much better performance am I gonna get?? Next thing I know, a small flat rate box shows up at my house. Its pretty heavy and looks as though they drug it behind the truck all the way from Idaho to Texas. Its a good thing Sixshot wrapped it in 17 cubic yards of packing tape. I end up using a heavy set of nippers to cut thru the binding and manage to get it open. Inside is a mixed pile of 327 Sledgehammers, 44s, 45s, and some 9mms. (What am I going to do with 9mms)?? Dick has packaged the individual calibers in small plastic Callshot Cheeseburger bags and the bags all busted open on the trip South. Of course, these plastic bags themselves have to be fragile enough for Callshot to get into as we all know if they were any more complicated to break into than they are ole Callshot would just starve to death. Anyway I sort thru these things thinking dang, these red pills these are ugly! I consider looking for my long lost slingshot and whether or not I might be able to use some cord and make charm bracelets out of the 44s and 45s and perhaps sell them at a garage sale. I wonder how many pounds of bracelets I might make? I guess I better load these up. I sure wouldnt wanna hurt anybodys feelings..... ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

You should look at this as an opportunity to go shopping, 2 Dogs. You can buy some clothing and accessories to match your new slugs so you're not a fashion disaster on the range. Matching or complimentary purse and shoes will make you a hit with the ladies!
Looking forward to hearing how they shoot.

After reading your post, I don't know if you are spoofing us or just full of bull pucky up past your neck which you don't have. I sent you a picture of some red bullets that I had coated and you thought that they were suppositories. I'm not sure they will shoot at your altitude in any case. As fast as you shoot, the red paint will act like tracer bullets so you can see them in the snow bank if you could hit one! Just settle down and load a pound of them like a normal person, shoot them like a normal person, and let us know what you think of them like a normal person. How many table spoons of fat make a pound? Enough said, have a nice day. Steve

Sheriff, aintcha ever heard of a bullet bra? Those red nipple slugs could be just the ticket. I hear they get harder and longer in the cold. Not sure what they'll do down in Corpus Christi.

Jeff, I ruminated on that very thing for a while and figured the heat and humidity down around Corpus would likely cause the powder coat to 'run' and knowing how fastidious Fermin is, didn't think he'd want his 'makeup' running.

Well a few messages back and forth with sixshot and I am going to try the powder coating. Bragging on Dicks packing skills, several years back sent a buddy of mine a box of brass. Box I shipped it in was about 24" square. Filled it with styrofoam peanuts, then to top that off put about 10 pounds of new corn cob media in, lose of course, lol. This end up, open from this end only, taped the box of brass to the bottom. Says he is still finding peanuts in the dangedest places. Jeff

Well Fermin I wasn't going to tell anyone, but since you let the cat out of the bag about your artistic side, I'll share this. I found your artistic love shack in Yarnell. Don't think the misspelled name will throw us off for long! ![](http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p288/snappydad/2dogs_zpseeab464f.jpg)

I am hesitant to bring any facts into this discussion, but I just tried my first powder coated boolits and was very pleased with the results.
One thing worth noting is that my heat treated WW boolits dropped from 20bnh to only 11 after baking the coating on.
I have worked with this revolver a LOT and 11bnh boolits with this same load and NOT powder coated were disappointing compared to heat treated.
The powder coated boolits, although softer, outshot the harder boolits with LBT blue.

This is one of the stranger but enjoyable threads I've read here. Thanks ! COR ? We gotta do a camp gathering/shoot someday.
