Based on the pictures, it does not look like period engraving, hence not factory engraving. Also, the plating looks newer and the pearl grips are not as old as the gun. I've handled a lot of guns, engraved and otherwise, from the entire spectrum of SAA production in the last two years in a consulting job and a lot of that has been sorting period factory engraving from later, non-factory engraving.
It is a beautiful gun and I really like it. That is nice engraving. A lot of non-factory engraving isn't nearly as nice as this gun (although they all are better than I could do!). It is common for engravers to sign their work, but it is just as common that they don't. In any event, a lot of engraver signatures are very small and it takes skill to not only find them, but to recognize whose signature it is, as they are often just little symbols or initials.
