I realize this thread is 2 months old...
This story is so fascinating, I just couldn't resist.
-& it gives hope to all of us who have researched a given topic enough to recognize when the "holy grail" is before us.

This is Hugh’s Son, Chris Clark, my brother and I were able to get my Fathers wish completed by having this gun reviewed in an article in The Rampant Colt, mission accomplished. Now we are considering selling this beauty to someone that will appreciate it as much as our father did. I have added a post to Colt forum as well, with mixed regards to the guns value or our value, we are not the experts but my father was able to get Dave’s authenticity letter, attached in this thread, and we were able to get it published and authenticated by Charles Layson and Dave Lanara again. As per Dave, looks to be only 1 or 2 that were made in 38 cal. If interested, please respond here on thread or PM or to my email
