Fowler, I know exactly what Cameron was using as I loaded for him. Thay are water dropped wheel weights, propelled by 22gr of IMR4227. This is neither the most accurate, nor powerful load that I worked up for my own use but Cam likes it and he's confident with. Jim Stroh cut the barrel of his M629, by the way. My 465gr are genuine LBT-LFN, and are loaded with SR4759 for around 1,150fps

That 44mag load sounds like a fine load, if my memory serves it is 1200-1300fps give or take, with that bullet it is going to get all of the penetration that it will get and still be more shootable that faster loads will. This is very good info if I ever draw here in Colorado, I would love to take a moose with my 44sp but it would certainly be a tall order. I think I would probably switch to a 300gr bullet at 1050fps over a Keith at 1200fps counting on deeper penetration.
On the other hand I will probably just carry my 475 Linebaugh and run a 375gr LFNPB at 1100fps and call it good. Your 465gr load certainly proves it is a better load for heavier game than a lighter bullet is.
Like I said what a wonderful trophy and congratulations to the both of you, what a memory of a life time there...
