Ok Boge now you're just showing off! LOL- Glad you did. Man those are awesome! After seeing that first picture, I suddenly felt the need to show my wife what the other guys were allowed to have. Now if they were just making them again...Very smart decision to "load up" when the time was right.

My Bride has reached the point where whenever I say, "so-and-so has such-and-such for sale...", she just says "buy it!"

Y'all have no idea. She is so great, she makes up for the selfish blister I married the first time around!

Y'all have no idea. She is so great, she makes up for the selfish blister I married the first time around! Amazing how that happens, and how one bad marriage makes you aware of what is necessary to have a great one. My wife and I don't argue or fight, mainly because we were in marriages before where that's all we did...makes you appreciate when you have it good!

Boge .... you are a "showoff", but we're glad for that and the opportunity to see your remarkable collection of USFA"s. I had an all blue Bisley flat-top target on order from Gary, about 8 months or so before they closed down shop, but unfortunately just couldn't make it happen. Had 2 Nickel Bisley .45's but let one go.
Swamp .... the color and character of the Ivory panels from Jim Alaimo @ Nutmeg are truly spectacular. In any case, regarding the Colt medallions, I'd probably leave them as they are, making your piece somewhat unique and discussion worthy.
Thanks everyone else for posting some beautiful examples of the short lived but long remembered excellence of USFA six-guns.

My old 5.5" FT Target 4 5/8" 45 Colt at full cock.....gun sat in my safe for a long time obviously unfired. Pulled it out at some point and it just didn't look right so I looked at it this direction and took a picture. When I explained it to the folks at USFA the next morning, they told me I was trying to use the wrong ammunition until the picture finally was opened. They sent a shipping label pretty quickly....so much for a test fire at the factory. Glad I didn't wait to check it later than I did and find out they were closed They made it right though. Beautiful sixgun, just had a slight alignment problem in the beginning

My only Turnbull with Nutmeg bull ivory. I kick myself everyday for not getting into SAs during USFA's heyday. And pictured with the gun is my new knife from Joel Chamblin, a Jess Horn Tribute SF Folding Fighter, with sheffield antique micarta slabs. It beat the FA 97 I have on order with the same stocks. Had to hold myself over somehow!

After all the above mine seems VERY pedestrian, but I do love it. It spends a lot of time on my hip when I am working on the tractor, woods walking, etc. The grip are some Eagle antique Ivory that I sanded on for many, many hours to get them to fit properly. I might spring for some custom one piece walnut some day.

Derek, I really like that! I love the more subtle looking finish. Just looks like a perfect working/packing gun. Nice work on the stocks. Looks like they fit great

Yeah, that's really nice. I'm a fool for not picking up a Rodeo or 2 when they were selling for so little on GB...
