The new GP-100 Match Champion intrigues me. I owned a 4" GP-100 for years and loved it. Sold it to a good friend and have regretted it ever since. Have any of you gets had a chance to try the new Match Champion? I'm wondering if the extra $250 or so is worth it over the stock tool plus an action job from a reputable smith.

Not aware of one passing through here yet. Hear that our Ruger promotion is coming up in early April. I'd expect to see one then..

Don't think it is actually out yet. We have them on order with Davidsons, and usually get all the new Ruger stuff as soon as it is released.

There's two on gunbroker. I've seen new owners with them on other boards, so apparently there's a few out there somewhere. I've never seen one in person.

Yep, and I HAD to have one! It shoots wonderfully, and has the best trigger I've ever felt on a Ruger.

Some are out, I've talked with a couple of guys who have them. The fixed rear sight precludes my ever buying one for it's advertised use. I'll stick to the original design. A little trigger work makes them perk right up. Now to find one with a short barrel lug.

On principle, I don't like the fixed sights, but it actually makes some sense for competition. Most competition of this type is done at close range, lots of classes don't care where you hit as long as you hit the target, many shooters never change their load so you could easily set the sights to your load and never worry about it again, fixed sights will never be wrong once you set them to your load. Still, not sure I could justify the price. But Boge's endorcement is about as high as they come!

Are not both front and rear drift adjustable? Rear looks like the sight on our SR9.

Ruger website says fixed, should be drift adjustable.

Gary's gun shop in Sioux Falls, SD had one earlier in the week when I was there.

Heck of a trigger on the one I have. Not totally crazy about the Novak fixed sights, but, hey, nobody asked.

I saw one at the Market Hall show in Dallas. I really liked it; balances better to me than a normal GP100, Grip fits my hand, and the sight picture was great. Very tempting overall.

I've talked with a couple of IPSC guys who own them. They had to file their sights to zero the gun to their competition loads. After that, people on the board simply stopped discussing them. Denis Prisby said on the Ruger Forum that the gun was intended for IDPA use. And apparently only IDPA.
I'll live without a copy of this one.

I bought mine in January 14, belated Xmas gift to me. Traded grips for a set off a SRH wood insert model. Gun has a nice action and loves 158grain Specials and Magnums. It is very accurate and has a lot cleaner profile than the full lug model. Sights dead on for me with 158 grainers. Carry it in an old 686 holster.
Paid 678.00 OTD, had it ordered in from a store in Montana.
