I had Reeder build me a .218 Mashburn Bee on a BH frame. With the blown out case of the M.B. and sane loads I have never had a an extraction problem. The only load this gun sees anymore is a 51 gr. LBT FNHP/GC and a bit of 4227 with a small pistol primer.

I have nothing against the Hornet, it’s a heady little round. But in a large frame SA I prefer the Bee or its improved offshoots. It outruns the Hornet across all weights and setback hasn’t been a problem (at least in the two we built). Availability of brass and dies are also about equal. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I found 22 hornet ammo but still have not located any 218 Bee brass. This build will wait until I have a good supply of brass.

.218 Bee brass can be very difficult to find, but 25-20 and 32-20 brass can be necked down and is a lot easier to find than 218.

How much Bee brass do you need?
My father had a Bee and saved brass for years. It is old and tarnished but I think it is all once fired because he didn't reload. I might part with some of it. I think you can still buy 218 Bee ammo as well.

In these days and times I am looking for 250 pieces of new brass before I invest $1,400 in the BFR build

I have a sbh in 22 k hornet done by Dave Clements no set back problems as long as every thing clean using Lil Gun started to eat the barrel face so its on the back burner for awhile. DC has agreed to another cyl in 218 mashburn bee it will be fun to compare the two it has 1 in 14 twist at present..7.5 inch long. Blast is more intense than my 30 Carbine bh, screens have to 15/ 20 ft away to work. was headed north of 2400 fps pressures seem ok there with lil gun will get back to it soon Don K

I'm in the other corner. Have a 218 Mashburn Bee and want a 22 K-Hornet cylinder for it.
For no reason will I use Lil Gun in my revolvers.
My latest projects involve these smaller calibers in the Single Six frame. We shall see how it goes.
