If you all have any pictures that you would like to share of any Bisley Barrel band gun that Harton has built, that would just be super. I don't see very many out there on the internet. Don't want to be of any trouble, but I would Love to see some of what you all have. Thanks, Justin

I don't have a full blown custom, but Alan did the work on my 32 mag Vaquerito and it's older brother you see in my avatar, a 45 Colt Montado. I had Alan fit a birdshead grip to the Montado. It's seamless... now compare that to the factory Ruger fit and finish on my birdshead 32 mag and you'll see the difference between an artisan of steel and your basic factory-produced revolver. I decided on Alan after I saw pictures posted by Boge of his little 32 mag Ruger. The expertise evident in his fitting of a S&W adjustable rear sight to the top strap of the fixed sight revolver was impressive, to say the least. The other thing is this: when I got my Montado, I couldn't keep 6 shots on a paper plate at 15 yards. That's right, 15 yards. When I got it back, I was able to put 6 shots into one ragged hole at 15 yards, and - if I took my time - into an inch at 25 yards. There are scads of beautiful revolvers out there, but this one is exactly as I like it and I wouldn't trade it for a FA or any other custom. It's a hands down favorite for several reasons. That's not to say I don't want a 5 shot custom, because I do. But, to me, this Montado is sweet butter with honey (or sorghum molasses!) on Mama's hot buttermilk biscuits!!!

Streaker and Boxhead, Thanks so much for the pictures. Those are some sweet blasters.
I liked how you personalized those guns boxhead. That front sight that you have on that Bisley, Streaker, is exactly what I am wanting on mine. Those barrel banded Bisleys make me druel. Same with those old Three screws. Appreciate the pics.

Dougader,
I know what you are saying there. I appreciate your description. I like the gun you described. Those Birdsheads feel good in your hand and I imagine that this one feels even better. Sounds like the gun groups good too.

That front sight that you have on that Bisley, Streaker, is exactly what I am wanting on mine. If you provide Alan with a pic of the sight you want, he'll make it for you. Here's another pic of a front sight Alan did for me. This sight and the one on my .500L are very similar. Alan is good about proportioning his sights to the size of the revolver they're going on.

This is another of Alan's custom front sight designs. This is on a 414 that he did for me. It is one of the trickiest reconfigurations I have. He rebuild the top strap to mimic the Freedom Arms so I could use a Lovell base It was done perfect!

C.R., I like both of those sights. I like the round shape towards the back and the sight being pinned in and all. That is a nice design. I got some time before he will be getting me in to do the work. That will give me some time to throw all these good pictures around. I got lucky to be able to get in a while back to get one in line with Harton. Had a hard time deciding weather to send my Stainless gun or my Blued gun. Blue is always my favorite, and I don't know that I will ever be able to get in with him again, so Blue it is. It all started when I had a stainless that I was going to send to Hamilton, but could not due to the serial number being about .025" away from the cylinder window. That gun has some serial number meaning to me, so I do want that gun worked on and I want it to be a special gun to my collection, but Blue goes first. I may not ever have another stainless done, just because Blue guns are my favorite. I have been a 1911 guy for some time now also and like the classic look of blue guns. Especially when they have some wear on them. Wow, they look good! My carry gun is looking better and better every day. Love the way they gain character.
Thanks for the other good looking front sight design, Kings6, I like the work that he did to the top strap on that gun.
There are so many sweet looking guns out there. I really like the white line that I have down the face of my front sight on my Linebaugh .45 with the white outline rear. I have to admit that I also like the plain black. What do some of you all prefer for hunting use and so on?
Thanks guys, Justin

Hey JR, who did the white line sights on yours? Is it the one in your avatar picture? Would you ever consider selling it?

Gunsbam69,
I sold it to some crazy redneck. That gun was leased for a while by me I guess. You are funny Gunsbam69.
My avatar picture will change in the near future with the up and coming five holer.
Thanks for the lease!
