Nice looking deer and good job. If you don't mind, more specifically where do you hunting? I hunt out of Bosque co. I worked up a hunting load for my 44spl flattop but never got a chance to try it out this season.

The first two deer were killed at the house out west of Wichita Falls, the third one in Motley Co.

Congrats! The .44 Special is my favorite handgun hunting cartridge. At least for deer and hogs. Great buck too! reflex264

Thanks for the inspiration for me to take my lowly 44 specials out for a deer hunt.

Nice deer! I've carried my .45 colt SAA for deer. Usually load 40 grains of fffg under a 260 lfn in balloon head cases. Have yet to find a deer that wants to be shot, so am somewhat jealous of your success

So you mean to tell me that you didn't need a 500gr bullet going 1800fps to kill those monstrous Texas whitetails??? Good shootin' and nice trophy!

Thanks guys. No, evidently it doesn't take a howitzer to kill a deer, although I don't begrudge anyone who uses a bigger caliber than I.
I've been really blessed with places to hunt where I have ample opportunities to shoot deer. Mike I hope you get a shot at one with your black powder load. That would be a real hoot!

You got me looking for Uberti 44 Specials. Spied a 7 1/2" for 4 bills online, but then there's one at the local pusher in 45 Colt4 5/8 that I've been lusting after... But then, I'm set with 44 Special stuff having a Charter Bulldog and a '92 Rossi in 44.. But then.... :-)
nice shooter...nice deer.
