I read a positive review of a Callahan in a book once, but I haven't seen much else about them! Looking forward to hearing more.

Myself. I have had excellent luck with Uberti guns. Unfortunately, all of my Uberti Revolvers are fixed sight models. I am looking forward to a target/hunting set up.
If the toletances are as good as the rest of my Ubertis, it will be good.
Will measure everything, give a full workout and report back.

I think it's a great little revolver for the price point.

I feel rude asking how much someone paid for a gun, but the only one listed on gunbroker is asking $580 for a fixed sight version. That's even with or above Ruger money. I think Uberti's are quality firearms, but I'm not sure I'd pay more for one than i would an equivalent Ruger.
Whit's gun looks good though! If the price was right, I would surely bring one home.

I WONDER WHY they would call one of their SA sixguns the "Callahan" model ? When I first heard of this pistol I was all excited about Uberti bringing out a DA sixgun to compete with the S&W line of goodies.

My dealer told me they were available to him. My price would be 429 bucks, which I find pretty reasonable considering such extras as counterbored chambers, case hardened frame, etc.

I didn't notice the different grips too. They look nice.

I do have a Callahan and am pleased with how it shoots. So far I've put ~600 rounds of 44 Special through it (250 gr Keiths - 2400 for warm, Green Dot for light): The bluing and wood are quite nice. My only knock is the cylinder has more end-shake than I like. I plan to re-bush it over the Christmas break. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
