Lynn makes very good bullets! Shoot for accuracy first & second, then worry about velocity, white tail deer are pretty soft with good hits but a wounded deer doesn't care if its a 300 magnum or a 41 magnum, its still wounded. With cast slugs you will get exits everytime, with jacketed you will/should get expansion & many times a quicker kill or at least thats the rumor, I've never found it to be true but I keep reading that its true. Again, the most important thing in hunting is accuracy, second is penetration, worry about velocity last. Come to think of it, when is accuracy NOT the most important. I get 100% exits using a 230 gr Keith & 17 grs of 2400, I can go up to 18 grs, even 19 grs, or I can switch to H110 & go even higher, what do I gain, one thing, recoil. Only go up if thats where the accuracy is at. Shoot those jacketed slugs with great confidence, they will work fine.
