Very slick project. Can I buy you a recoil pad? :-)

Nah The recoil isn't bad with the 325's, but it might get your attention with 500gr pills. I'll load some soon and see what it does. I started out wanting to leave it in the military stock since every other rifle built on a 98 has had an aftermarket stock. Actually I would have liked to reuse the handguard, but I wanted a peep and didn't want the hole left there for the rear sight.

Fixed the pics. Seems you have to pay for Photobucket when enough folks look

Great Project! All that with out fancy tools. I think I may have to copy your adjustable rifle rest too. I'll call it the Alabama Lead Sled.

I wish the quality was better so I could decide if that is the bullet out there in front of the flash. Funny little trail coming out in front of the flash around something.... Of course the bullet may be long gone from that frame.

I have it sighted in a couple of inches high at 100 yards. I dropped the second shot low. I saw a bit of light between the spot and the top of the front sight right as the trigger broke. That spot looks tiny at 100 with open sights and leaning across the rail of the deck isn't the steadiest of shooting positions, but I was almost out of daylight and didn't have time to move the bench. I almost wish the rifle was drilled and tapped for a scope so I could see just how good it really will shoot at 100 yards.
