Glenn,, as you well know,,, it's not what we bag,,, but the trips we take. The memories that stand out of our trips are the ones where everything doesn't always go perfectly,,, but the little glitches we experience. Our one trip together my friend,, is one of the most enjoyable I've ever had,,, little "glitches" & all. The pic I have of all of us on the couch is one of my favorites. Ok, you missed a world class goat,,, but the memories will live forever. Did I tell ya about the time I had the largest whitetail I'd ever seen locally & didn't take the shot,,,,?

Sounds like an extremely challenging area to hunt. Hardly a roll in the soil hide a man. Good hunting Glenn.

Were the primers purchased recently? I'm pretty sure QC has slipped across the board since last December.

No, the primers are fine. I moved die settings and I think I have it worked out. It basically comes down to I'm a moron that's been loading for belted mags since I was 11 with no issues and was using an old Big Max press and didn't get a light to really look up in the press, its so big that the dies really don't protrude. I always FL size them the first loading, just barely touched the edge of the belt but I think it was enough to monkey with the headspacing. Time will tell. I'm going to just neck size the rest of them for this gun and we will see what happens.....As I said, it all comes down to me not paying attention and having the first problems ever with reloads since I started at 5 with my dad. It just happened to happen at an inopportune moment

Glenn, In my 300 Win Mag which is my all around shooter I just neck size all the time, have never had to FL size, course I built the chamber. As long as it closes on the cartridge its all that matters, and of course you are shooting in the same gun. Buy yourself a set of Go-No-Go gauges to have on hand. ATB, Lee

Great story. Great hunt. I know it's a heartbreaker to miss that monster, but you sure got a nice one in the end.
