most everyone here has experience over my head, but my mentor ( not puter savey ) would fit in here, so at the risk of looking like an idiot... this is what I was told... isn't Red Dot a double ( rather than single ) based powder my buddy always told me light loads of fast burning double based powders were more dangerous that light loads of single based powders... so from that standpoint, I'd be hesitant... too fast for me to want to play with, in the big bore magnum class, & light loads may prove more than you were looking for, or provide unexpected results... if I'm in error here, please let me know...

I have used it in both .44 Special and .44 Magnum loads....nice for lower recoil and plinking...it appears to work fine so far. I used 8.0 grains in magnum with a 240gr SWC at avg. fps of 1108.
