I have all of the regular primer I could ever need, but I've come into a need for small rifle magnum primers. I found a thousand, but I need more and can't find any. I was wondering if amy of you gents have been having any luck finding primers lately and where. All of my normal supliers are still out of stock. Bill

4-5 weeks ago, I got 8,000 of them in the 2 sizes I was lowest on, from Cabela's... went in 2-3 mornings at open, for a couple weeks, before I found a day they came in, but there wasn't a limit on the primers ( at that time ) so I'm now well stocked... seems tough, but most places are still getting shipments, just selling out fast... I was glad to get them locally... I hate paying hazmat

small rifle magnum primers? Have you checked at Larry's? I know we had a good mix of primers on the floor. I don't work until Thursday. I try to remember to look. May know in a few hours. Asked one of the guys working today to check and send me a text if we do.

My local gun store has had primers recently, except SRM! They can keep everything else in stock, but small rifle is gone very quickly.
They are even getting more powder in regularly now. Luckily, i found a different store with a huge selection of powder! bought 12lbs there a few weeks ago.

I actually found some 22 LR last week. First I have seen all summer. Wideners had some federal small rifle yesterday.

Haven't had too much trouble with primers, although there has been limit of 500 per day a couple of times.
Some .22lr around. Not tons but some. A few places asking crack smoking prices, and a few that are priced just a bit higher than normal post 2009 ammo debacle prices.
Smokeless Powder is my biggest issue around here in Ma/N.H.
Very little to chose from.

I can find powder but no 22 ammo or any primers. I myself am good looking for one of the guys I run around with. Lol now he says he will buy them by the case. Hindsight is always 20x20. Small magnum rifle. I never remember small rifle ever being a magnum up until a few years back? Or were they there and no one used them? Never the less let me guess 300 black out/300 whisper/30x221? I was told the AR loading for this calls for small rifle magnum. I worked with that cartridge in ihmsa when it was the latest greatest gotta have it or lose a match caliber. I ran a lot of magnum type powders and never once that I know of had an issue to think I needed a hotter primer. I used small rifle primers and small pistol primers and settled on pistol. Granted you may have more inertia with an AR platform but I don't know why a standard would not work. Jeff

Has anybody got any LP primers? LP primers are not that hard to find around here. Bill

Jeff The reason I need srm primers is that's what the loading manual calls for for the powder I'm using. I also us BLC2 in 308 and it calls for magnum primers in that to and in that case I can tell you for a fact, that it make a difference. Bill

I was at the new cabela's store in Green Bay, Wi last Saturday. They had CCI small pistol primers both regular and magnum. They also had small rifle primers both regular and magnum as well. They had large pistol but no large pistol magnum tho.

Not to argue just discussion. You have some 308 with small primer pockets? That would make a big difference then especially with BLC2. The big interest in the 300 black out I have spoken to several that said data called for smrp for that. I just suspected you were working with the 300x221 or variation there of. I have fooled with a lot of smaller 30 caliber cases the past few years and my findings were better with a standard primer. There has been a fair bit of discussion on this subject on several boards. Most seem to think that a hot primer shoves the powder and bullet out into the throat before a complete burn. Most folks I shoot with use a small pistol primer in the hornet for example. 308 case is a different matter of course. Jeff

I've had no problem finding primers around my neck of the woods. Prices and quantity continue to be a problem. Prices are high and most places will only let you buy 5 packs at a time. I did buy 1000 Federal 210s...but it was $49.99. Gone are the days of buying a 1000rd case for $25 to $30.
