How would a P-14 Enfield work for a 50 Alaskan. I have seen a couple of them that were converted to 45-70.

LOL...........I have been reading up on them for the last couple of hours. The P14's as well as the P17's have been built in all manner of bog bore combinations and stood up. Thought about finding a P14/P17 receiver with a P14 bolt for the rim of course. Possible and of course safe ?

David is right...you really need a canted magazine well to properly cycle rimmed cartridges. Enfields can be made to work but they're less than ideal (plenty strong, but feeding can be tricky due to the rim 'pitching' the case as it ramps). -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Why I considered the P-14 is the fact that its a rimmed cartridge (303) versus the M1917 (30-06). Im asking not telling lol............ you guys have alot more knowlege of such things than I do...... I just have a great interest Not questioning you or Mr bradshaw just hoping to learn some more.
