you guys surprised me with how many 50 caliber single action revolvers were out there... how about a companion rifle... here's my 50 A.E. companion rifle for my custom Blackhawk, & Automag 5 started life as a new Marlin 44 Magnum lever gun ( BTW, this conversion was done long before Remy joined the group ) we were able to use the same bolt, because of the 50 A.E.'s rebated rim... barrel was changed... thought just open the lift gate a little... but it was more complicated than that... the magazine tube was too small, & needed to be replaced, the ejection port & loading gate needed opening a bit & recoil went from pleasant to slightly brutal, & the fore end ended up needing glass bedded to help keep everything together... I guess it counts as a high capacity gun, as the full length, mag tube holds more than 10 rounds, unless I'm using heavy cast bullets... BTW #2, a heavy crimp is needed to keep from pushing the bullets in, during recoil in the tube mag... mine looks pretty much stock, but now shoots a 50 ;D

I guess technically my old Martini in 50-70, is also a "lever gun" albeit a single shot bottom gun in this pic...

Thanks... I love it, it's now every bit as much a brute as my guide gun... I have a local retired tool & die guy, for a close buddy, that's been working on guns, since he was a kid... nobody famous, but he kinda likes to remain anonymous we did this rifle probably 15 years ago, & at that time, I had another retired local guy do the bluing... my buddy still likes to keep his mind & hands busy, so I give him projects he likes to work on these days, for a little extra pocket cash... but the older he gets, the fewer peoples guns he likes to work on, & the few projects he actually likes to work on... anymore he likes single shot rifles, & single action revolvers... he's the one, that recently also did the machining work on my 257 single action project that we just finished, that I've posted about lately

I'm impressed. Anyone know if the gunsmiths are doing these for others?

that's what I'm talkin bout... though it's not really a true companion rifle, unless you have a BFR in 50 Alaskan I've not seen another 50 A.E. Marlin on the internet yet... but I'm new to this forum, & you guys seem to have all cool toys here

I beleive the posting credited Jack himself Buckheart. I'm sure it's within his realm

That's pretty cool... I have never seen another one... glad I built mine when I did, as I have less into mine total, than the custom work alone cost in the link, & the Marlins quality ( though I'm sure that gets fixed with the custom work ) & the price were better 15 years ago...
I also have a custom cut mold that throws 340 - 350 grain semi wadcutters, that I use in my revolver, & in my lever gun... but I also have a good supply of 325 grain Gold Dots ( which I mostly use in my Automag )

BTW...I just noticed from the specs & the pics, that these guns have a 1/2 magazine, where as mine has the full capacity magazine...
he may have gone to the short mag, to cut back on the cartridge pounding of all that bullet mass, that we partially resolved by glass bedding the fore end, & adding heavy crimps
