After a home improvement job, I took my 2X4 block ends to the range. They were in varying sizes and made great targets. Every time you hit them, they got smaller. Reactive, destructive, and challenging. Had a teenager with me and he agreed that shooting them was fun. Then, we cleaned up the big pieces and left the smaller splinters to enrich the soil.
