That is a really cool gun! I wish there were more modern single shots like this, so we Could customize them! uberti still makes rolling block pistols, copies of this design. i have one in 357 and they make them in 22 hornet and maybe other calibers-- beautifully balanced, elegant pistols.

I'm having a fantasy of that gun having been built by Al Goerg at about the same time as he built "Rollo".

That pegs the cool meter for me ! When a boy, of towing red wagon size, the guy next door got me to help him clean out his basement. Payment was whatever fit in my red wagon. I came home with fishing gear, a Coleman lantern and a Remington #1 in .43 Spanish. It was longer than I was tall. Mom threw a fit ! Dad calmed her down, since no ammo was available. I sold it in my late teens to pay for non-res hunting licenses. KEEP IT ! stevemb

I was able to take it out a couple months ago. Had only a couple loads with me, but it was extremely accurate. The front sight needs to be quite a bit taller with the loads I was using, as it shot about 8" high at 25 yards. However, the groups were nearly one hole. Will have to make a taller front sight when I get time. The throat is very short. It wouldn't chamber some of the bullets I used. It requires a truncated cone or deep seating. Will be interesting to work up the sweet load for it. I have an old Ideal mold for the .44 Russian. I hope it shoots that bullet well. The mold and gun are close enough in age to need to stay together.

Don't mess with the sight. Just shoot farther

Don't mess with the sight. Just shoot farther The sight is pinned, so I can put the other back on as needed. With that said, trying it beyond 25 yards would be interesting.
