I remember those. George Nonte was a fan of sightless snub revolvers, believe he may have been involved.

Hmmnnn....kinda neat belly-gun. For urban use, bad breath range. On a bus,etc.. Backpacking, well, I'd a left the barrel at 3" and a front sight would be a plus ! The gun was modified for a use, but backpacking wasn't it. Sorry folks. IMHO. stevemb

The gun was modified for a use, but backpacking wasn't it. I agree with you, Steve. That Bulldog has been rendered all but useless for anything beyond "bad breath range". I am entirely partial to my box-stock .44 Bulldog with a useable front sight!

I like it. One would be a neat little brother to my 629-2 MR. The rest of the work makes those Pachmayer Compacts look big on the gun.

Oh, I still would have been tempted to pick up that variation, just think a different marketing name was in order. Say.."The Gambler" ? I have a standard SS in my vest pocket right now. stevemb

That is a slick little gun. I really like the .44 Special, but I am pretty partial to a front sight!

A real belly gun! I like it. Specialized for sure but slick & quick to snake out and use.

Laser grips should fix all those complaints. I like it, Matt. Take it out of your trouser pocket before you fire it! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for all of the comments, fellows. I certainly have no impact on what Magna Port called them, either way, it is a neat belly gun.
Ken - you read my mind, I'm going to get some laser grips and stuff in my pants pocket for when it is needed.

I'm calling DIBS if you ever decide to sell that...DON'T sell that! I like the idea of you packing that little big-bore around. For you it's akin to a mere human carrying a J frame. I will make you a nice Pocket Holster for your birthday.

I saw one of those at a gun show in the 80's and liked it. The epitomy of 'belly gun' but with above average punch. I've always had a thing for Charter Arms Bulldogs so I appreciate the post. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

You may not want to fire through your trouser pocket, but a cast 240 SWC .44 has no trouble exiting a coat pocket----special delivery meatball. In Fact, Larry Kelly probably should have called it "Special Delivery." This is not a blind revolver; it has a topstrap sight.
When it comes to naming a rufian, euphemism is appropriate. A couple in San Francisco had pair of mean, untrained (or poorly trained) bite dogs. Killed a neighbor. I can hear the music now...
Judge: "What's the name of your dog that wouldn't hurt a flea?"
Defendant: "Killer." *** In defense of the "Backpacker," it's job is 100% defense. David Bradshaw
