I have a Brown Precision 250 Savage built on a REM 600 action. It’s very similar to the ad gun. It was built pre model 7 existence. It’s a beautifully light easy handling rifle. I also have a Melvin built (2021) NULA in 6.5PRC. Neither are threaded but I wish they were, but those 2 guns cover a lot of situations. Both shoot great.

Given the current mkt price of 41 mag leverguns and all things considered, is a 357 or a 44 levergun, easier to convert to 41 mag?

Any chance Ruger makes more in anything other than 44 Mag?

Just marking a cleaning rod, it made almost two revolutions before exiting the muzzle. Henry says 1-12" and I figure their data is correct. If course, I doubt I ever shoot really heavy bullets. I'll see how this thing shoots soon. WOW! That's really slow Encore. Have you shot it yet? I might have missed it, how long it the barrel? Tony 1-12” in most rifle calibers is slow but in 35 caliber, as in a 35 Whelen, 1-12” shoots up to 250gr bullets accurately. There are very few, if any, 35 caliber factory guns faster twisted.

Ross Seyfried’s writings, pictures, hunts and projects were my biggest influence on my single action journey. Bob Milek was the other inspiration in my younger days.

Escimo36, is that wenge on your avatar gun? The one with a case colored frame? Wenge is good stuff! All the wood on my guns is Turkish walnut.

I like those flat horned bucks. No need to judge a couple inches at a few hundred yards.

I have been doing a little hunting this year. I promised my GF I wasn't going to shoot a deer this year and she took that as I wasn't going to hunt much. The pronghorn was from last week in NM on a 255 section ranch south of Moriarty. This is a ranch I built a pipeline across in 1995 and always remembered how big the goats were. I didn't know the hunt was on the same ranch until I showed up in a familiar area. My guide and I walked a little over 10 miles that day and spotted a lot of bucks. I had 4 in my crosshairs and passed before this one. The shot was about 200 yards and he was dead right there. All these animals were shot with my LH 280 REM Blaser R8 with a Gemtech Tracker can. The next one is a scimitar oryx cow from a high fence south Texas ranch that was reducing its breeding population. She measured out just over 40". 225 yard shot off of a Bog Death Grip with temps over 100 degrees. The last one is a broke horn, management Arabian Oryx. This is an uncommon animal on many ranches and I will have the taxidermist fix the horns so i have a nice representative animal of the species on the wall. A trophy Arabian is quite pricey. They have the beautiful warrior markings on their face, like a gemsbok. I am busy with a big pipeline project in south Texas right now and I don't have anything else planned for the year.
