Anyone have a used 7x chest holster for a scoped SRH 454 they no longer need or use? Scope is a Leupold FX-2 4x28, barrel length is 7.5”. Thank you Bill

I wound up calling Brush Research Mfg and talking to a guy about what I wanted. He said all I needed was the finer grit brush (800). So I ordered one from them, $10 cheaper then Brownells.

I just picked up an early SRH target grey 454 and the first time shooting it I had hard extraction. Now I was shooting some pretty hot reloads, 300gr XTP Mag's. When I got home & cleaned it I noticed the chambers are pretty ruff with tooling marks. I wound up backing the loads down 1.5grs. (31grs.) & no more hard ejecting. Im wanting to polish up the chambers a little bit I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I see Brownells sells a couple different polishing hones for the job. A medium grit & a fine grit. My question is if I just get the medium grit hone will the finish be good enough to leave it as the final finish? Or if I just get the fine hone will it do a good enough job by itself. It doesn't give the grit #, just med. & fine.

I always liked they're tanker holster. Maybe I might have to get one for the Lipsey's SuperBlackHawk.

I've ordered 4 holsters and a cartridge belt from them in the past 3yrs. With no problems. Their is a wait but I don't know how long now. 3 or 4 months??? But good quality in my opinion.

I order my springs directly from Wolff. I will tell you that to light of a trigger spring & the trigger might have a hard time resetting.

You are correct it was a 458. I don't know what made me think it was a 375. My bad.

For full power handgun loads I use to duct tape old magazines together (8" to 10" thick). They were good for about 3 or 4rds. of 44mag/45colt/357mag/45acp as long as you didn't hit in the same spot.

I should've read all the posts before posting. But I believe it was a 375 & not a 458 Clint used.

In Dirty Harry Clint was on top of a roof at night trying to snipe out the Bad Guy with a 375 H&H. Now that's Bad Ass. Lol

Some very nice leather work. Do you have a web page? I'm a black holster guy but I really like that color of brown.
Ok I found your web page

Probably the tuffest jacketed bullet would be Sierra's 300gr. For 44 & 45.

Now that would be an easier regulation (ftlbs at the muzzle) to follow or obey then measured at 50yrds.

No I was just curious as to the law. I've heard of caliber restrictions & barrel length restrictions but never energy or vellocity restrictions. I Learned something new.
