By law, if you ship from an FFL it has to go to an FFL and you then must do paperwork again. If true, the FFLs around don't know it. While a gun I sent in for repair had to go back to the FFL i didn't have to do the paperwork to get it back. That was done more than once.

Since it is not a transfer you can ship via USPS flat rate box. And, again, since it is not a transfer, your gunsmith can mail it right to your front door. My Post Office won't even send gun parts from a non FFL

I am looking for a mount for an original Anaconda and/or a Ruger Bisley in 45 Colt to fit a Sight Mark red dot. One that doesn't require drilling of the top strap would be what I am hoping to find. Any suggestions?

I went to wet tumbling 3 years ago as an experiment and to learn more about it. Dry did a good job, but then I had to clean the dust off the case and media out of the flash hole. Wet did a better job but add drying time and picking steel pins out of the flash hole and occasional ones that get jammed across the mouth of wide enough cases. I originally started drying cases on a cookie sheet in the oven at low temp but bought a dryer from Fanklin Armory that does a better job and isn't in the oven. My wife prefers that. I also use my RCBS media separator to get rid of most of the pins and water from cases before drying. If you can, use distilled water or you'll get spots on your cases.

He and Becky were very gracious to me when I dropped the first of several guns off at his place over the short time I knew him. He was working on a Colt SAA for me when he died. I keep thinking about sending it to Jeff Ault to get finished, but it is more than functional and is a Munden gun.

Zeus
Is that a typo or did you really mean you've never seen an FA that "did" shoot exceptionally.

That is what we had for the past week. Near 0 temps and several inches of snow. Finally looks like we'll have enough warm days to get rid of most of it. But, then there is always May. Some of our worst snow storms have been in May.

I can only say I shot on in 454 Casull. It was the softest shooting of the two I have shot.

Is this the New Vaquero or the old. The new is built on a smaller frame than the old so there will be a difference on strength and feel of the guns. The old is basically a Blackhawk without the adjustable sights. The grip frames are also different. I had both old and new and preferred the old mainly due to not liking the hammer on the new. Mine were both in 45 Colt and Ruger and some writers recommended against Ruger only loads in the New. In the .357 I doubt there will be a problem since the pressure will be the same in both and Ruger obviously chambers the New in it.
