Shopkeeper: you just know somebody's going to convert one of those little rascals to .32 - you just know it...

I sort of like it, but have no use for anything without adjustable sights. Oh come on, that's 1/2 the fun!! Send it off to one of the many talented sixgunsmiths for a nice adjustable rear (S&W rear) or a nice windage adj. rear blade like the older Single Sixes. How slick would that be? That would be cool...........but pricey. Last time I looked it was at least a $500-$600 job

While the Bearcat is cute, where was the demand for one? I have seen several "Ruger Wishlists" and it wasn't on there. On the other hand, a 480 Blackhawk makes every list. So who does Lipseys and Ruger listen to? I watched the Shot report on new Rugers and again was unimpressed and wonder where was the demand for the products they came up with?

Agreed.
Ruger is missing the boat by not introducing a .480 single action, be it a five or six shooter. It can be done. If we know that, surely they know it.

Now that is NICE!! Is that old-school factory production, or did you change up an existing model?

Agreed. Ruger is missing the boat by not introducing a .480 single action, be it a five or six shooter. It can be done. If we know that, surely they know it. Don't hold your breath. A good friend was a high level engineer in the Newport plant. About 10 years ago he asked if he could borrow 2 of my custom Bowens. A call tag arrived and I sent off a Redhawk in 500 L and a Nimrod in 475. About 6 months later they were returned in perfect condition having been thoroughly disassembled and analyzed. Bottom line: they didn't think either could be done at a viable price point (for Ruger). Since then there has been some change in upper level management, Bill Jr was bumped out, etc. So there might be a chance of a 475 or 480 BH, but like I said at the top, don't hold your breath. Pete

I am certaintly not a high level engineer. But if Magnum Research can build a 480 and a 500 JRH with a current street price of $900 Ruger should be able to easily beat that if they wanted to due to the volume they can sell.

Volume is the problem. It is a small market.

It is a small market. But Ruger will sometime make a run of 100 of something totally different to test the waters without catologing the items. Case in point, about 4-5 years ago they made a batch of 100 left hand Ruger 375's which sold pretty quick. About 4 months or so ago they made another run of 100 that is almost sold out. Surely it would not take much R&D dollars to make a batch of 100 480's to test the waters.

I sort of like it, but have no use for anything without adjustable sights. That's what they make files for. Pick a couple of loads that shoot to the same POI, then judiciously file until it's shooting to POA. That's what I did with my Birdshead Vaquero in .45ACP. I have one of these little cuties on order with my LGS. He is a volume dealer and usually gets these Lipsey's guns pretty quickly after they start shipping.

Just put a Lipsey's Single Ten on layaway at my LGS. Cool little pistol, with a 4.6 in Bbl, fiber optic adjustable sites, and nice wood gunfighter grips. Should have it home in aweek. Can't wait.
