We all have sixguns that we have had for a long time. But WHICH one grabbed you the most for 2012? Personally, I picked up quite a few Smiths, and a couple of customs. One of those Smiths gave me fits all summer long, but the others were prime. I am going to have to think it over, but I have narrowed it to these myself....
Smith 325 45 acp Smith 625 Mtn Gun 45 acp (1133) Reeder Ultimate Bisley 45 Colt Harton Bisley Vaquero custom 32 magnum
What do YOU think of your 2012 selections and what is on your list for 2013??? My list for 2013 includes but is not limited to..
Super Redhawk 44 or 45 Colt Sig 938 (Yeah I know) Colt flattop target DA
Hmmmm?

Was only able to add the 475 BFR this year. Have my eyes on a couple Blackhawks next year, and if a 329 comes along at the right time. The best thing about 2012,was how much shooting I did and how much it improved with the help and suggestions of you all.

Easy choice for me. Freedom Arms "Alaska Master Guide Series" in 454. My first Freedom Arms. Second place would probably be my S&W Model 29-4, although I have also thoroughly enjoyed shooting black powder out of my newly slicked over Cimarron Model P in 45 Colt.

dmize, a 475 is plenty of gun to add for a year. You could spend the whole year learning to shot it well working up to the BIG loads!

My best purchase of 2012 was my USFA SAA .45/.45 ACP Convertible that I got in January. It's a beautiful piece and I feel fortunate I got it when I did since they have downsized considerably during the last several months.

2012 has been an exceptional sixgun year for me. A few Reeder customs, a trio of Linebaugh longs, and a pair of S&W 625s. Acknowledging and embracing my reputation as a non-shooter, I'll own up to having shot the 625s most.
2013 Plan? Shoot More! Some local old heads have gotten wound up shooting matches recently. Hoping to fall in with them and get busy. New gun plans include a pair of rimfire customs and a eight shot 32-20/327 that are in currently work. Got an idea that I need to get Gary Reeder to build me a couple more small bore revolvers. These next two may be 8 shot Blackhawks in his 240 and 255 Banshee.

I got two new gun wheel guns this year and both are truly exceptional.
I have been holding the the introduction of my big project until I finish the huntilng season out, hopefully bloodying the gun but I will soon.
So until that time I can't tell y'all what is my best although the USFA was pretty cool and tough to beat but it was beaten out...

I had what I would consider a really good year for me with the addition of three. Two sixguns and a lever action. My very first levergun.... Minty Pre CBS 39a A really cool factory engraved E.N. Santabarbara New Model Army and the 44 Mag Virginian Dragoon. Been having fun trying out Black Powder 44 Magnum loads with the V. Dragoon!! Worked up a couple of smokeless loads that it likes too. Big thanks to you guys here on the forum for helping me out with the info about these when I was in the buying process. Merry Christmas -Mike

My "best" & only sixgun in 2012 is a Ruger New Vaquero 45 Colt with a 7 1/2" barrel. Not easy to find as they stopped making them a couple of years ago. This one is to supplement my short gun in CFDA competition allowing me to participate in the Shootists category fast drawing a long gun. I'm on the far left throwing some wax. Best Handgun purchase of 2012 would be a Colt Lightweight Commander but that is another thread. Merry Christmas to the forum

A really cool factory engraved E.N. Santabarbara New Model Army That one is definitely cool! If it were mine I'd mount it in a shadow box over my desk so I could look at it every day. Forgot about this one , but I love it and it gets shot a lot. K frame Smith Model 14-3

Chutch, How long you been in CFDA? I am also a CFD shooter, alias Jayhawker. In your pix looks like you are shooting against Buzzard Cooper, usually a very humbling experience. Good luck in Shootist, so named for our JT. My favorite of 2013, a Gunbroker Colt. Early 20th century custom Sherrif Model. Factory letter says it left as 7.5 inch .44-40. Now is a .45 Colt SM with custom ramp front sight, 1860 Army grip frame numbered to match, one piece walnut grips, and full carved and lined S. D. Myres Threepersons holster.

2012 has been a great sixgun year, but if I had to narrow down it would between boxed old model Ruger 45 convertible, stainless Linebaugh built 475 vaquero or TLA Border Special. I think those would be my top three, followed by Bowen built octagon 500 or Bowen stainless 45 convertible vaquero.
Border Special is at the top just because of how long it took me to track one down.
Merry Christmas all.
