My son and I after my recent trip to visit him in FL. Mine was with my Huntington 475L and his was with a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70. His was a DRT with a Hornady Leverevolution. The shot was close but that bullet was NOT the one to use. It exploded when it hit bone. Luckily the "bone" was the neck. Mine was with a CP 410gr. WFN loaded to 1100 fps. Put two shots behind the shoulder and the hog was still moving. Got a third shot that hit him right below the ear, ending the chase. Dan

Buddy at work invited me down to help a neighbor out with a hog problem, come the next full moon. He's been baiting 'em for a week or so, hoping to draw 'em in. Hopin' to put the smack-down on 'em with the .45-70 Guide Gun.
Need to load up a bunch of .41Mag & get some trigger time in, so I can try to bushwack one with the Bisley.

Here are 3 of 5 that were hit in mid December. Aaron and I each lost one. You can see from the pic that I am quite sweaty from trying to recover those 2 missing hogs! I hit 2 with one shot from my 7mm GNR contender, and Aaron his 3 with one shot from my suppressed 260 Remington. I havent been able to get back out for the gun business boom. Hopefully it will back off a bit for us while it is still cool enough in S. Texas to be afield.

I shot a hog a couple of days ago with a 9mm 124+p at about 150 yards. Neither the hog or I was impressed.

What launch platform were you using? I seem to recall you making some impressive long range hits with a Browning Hi-Power? There can't be a whole lot of energy left in that little slug @ 150 yards though :-(

Yea, it was with a browning high power. It has since been restricted to urban duty.
